Nonfiction

Marsha Ward writes more than just fiction. She has contributed to books on writing and publishing, is preparing a series of e-books on how she publishes as an “Indie” (independently publishing) author, and has collected recipes for not only a cookbook first published in the 1980s, but for her newest work, a mashup of nonfiction and fiction with authentic historical recipes from Colonial times on the American Continent through the Westward Migration and settlement of the West.

The recipes in From Julia’s Kitchen: Owen Family Cookery, are purported to be the treasured collection of Julia Helm Owen, matriarch of the Owen Family in her series of novels entitled “The Owen Family Saga.” Marsha gives insights into Owen family life in her fictional introduction to each recipe, and includes a bonus scene suggested by one of the recipes.
